Sidenote: I'm about to be super busy. I leave tomorrow for Sleepy Bear. Once I get back, I have plans with my boyfriend, and then with Alicia who will be back from France! Wednesday I might be doing a bit of job shadowing, and Thursday Licia and I are working a cancer walk as Finch Photography! I'm also getting a MacBook Pro and Photoshop somewhere in there, which means I'll be working on a new layout! Basically, I'm going to have no time to edit the hundreds of pictures I'm about to take, or work on the layout. And my roommate will be visiting from India on August 11th!

At first, our day was going really badly (left late, etc etc), but we ended up having a truly lovely day at the beach! It was partly cloudy and the water was cool, but it felt heavenly.

I wore this outfit yesterday for a wonderful day out on the town with my cousin, Libby. We went out to lunch, antiquing, and for coffee. Then later in the day I went out with my other cousin, Ashlyn, to look at laptops and do more shopping.

I'm kind of in love with this. I think the colors look really interesting together. I'm also happy with how closely the necklace and shorts match considering they're thrifted from different places.

Weekend Getaway {Grand Haven}

This weekend I visited my friend Emily in Grand Haven.
We had a ton of fun running around and doing all sorts of things.

I loved this outfit so much that I ended up wearing it two days in a row...

If you're in the area, I would highly suggest visiting Rosy Mound, the pier, and Fricano's.
Each have their little quirks but are completely worth it. Rosy is a long but beautiful hike down to a secluded beach, the pier is always crammed but provides the best view of the sunset, and Fricano's only takes cash but has amazing pizza.

Chloe and I went to see a local band at the Riverwalk yesterday. There are bands playing almost every thursday this summer. I love that we have these opportunities to see live music so often. The band that played this week are called the Crane Wives.

I'm not big on taking risks in my outfits, but when it comes to print mixing, I don't really think it matters. If both prints are floral, I say go for it! Who cares if you look like an old granny's wardrobe blew up on you?

I'm slowly learning that life is no fun without small risks.

Alicia and I visited the zoo today!
We had tons of fun running around like kids, taking pictures, and just being silly. Nothing says summer to me like being weird with my best friend.
