from Paris with love

Alicia left for France yesterday! And because her 18th birthday is while she's away, I decided to take her to Paris, MI last Thursday.



We enjoyed green olive tapenade and pasta with yogurt, lemon, and basil.


Alicia hates surprises so much. I told her a few days before that she had to dress up, and after that, she kept asking me where we were going.


Although we won't get to spend her actual birthday together, I'm glad that we were able to spend some time together before she left.

Weekend Getaway {Grand Haven}

This weekend I visited my friend Emily in Grand Haven.
We had a ton of fun running around and doing all sorts of things.

I loved this outfit so much that I ended up wearing it two days in a row...

If you're in the area, I would highly suggest visiting Rosy Mound, the pier, and Fricano's.
Each have their little quirks but are completely worth it. Rosy is a long but beautiful hike down to a secluded beach, the pier is always crammed but provides the best view of the sunset, and Fricano's only takes cash but has amazing pizza.

Every Fathers Day my family goes on a day trip.

{ On the way there } we bought the best homemade toffee bars I've ever had

{ We visited } on old haunt of my fathers.

{ We went to the antique shop across the street } I was in love with this beautiful set from Hawaii.

{ Visited } the High Rollway because my grandfather wanted to.

{ We took a hike }

Today has been a cleaning day so I didn't really get dressed. But I did make lunch. 

My sister and I had pizza with the leftovers from our bruschetta last night. yum!

Chloe and I went to see a local band at the Riverwalk yesterday. There are bands playing almost every thursday this summer. I love that we have these opportunities to see live music so often. The band that played this week are called the Crane Wives.

Alicia and I visited the zoo today!
We had tons of fun running around like kids, taking pictures, and just being silly. Nothing says summer to me like being weird with my best friend.
